RMU Men’s Soccer Ties Milwaukee on Senior Day

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against Milwaukee on Senior Day at the North Athletic Complex. With the result, the Colonials move to 4-2-7 overall and remain unbeaten in Horizon League play at 2-0-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
RMU wasted little time getting on the board, striking in the 10th minute. Riley Cotton found Anass Hadran making a run down the left flank, and Hadran's attempted cross deflected off a Milwaukee defender and into the net to give the Colonials a 1-0 lead.

The Colonials controlled the remainder of the first half, limiting the Panthers to just one shot on goal. Hadran nearly doubled the advantage in the 40th minute, but his effort ricocheted off the post to keep it a one-goal game.

Milwaukee leveled the score early in the second half, with Jack Bretzmann finding the back of the net in the 46th minute to make it 1-1.

Just four minutes later, RMU answered back. Off a short corner, Hadran played the ball to Cotton outside the box, and the midfielder ripped a first-time strike into the top corner for a highlight-reel goal and a 2-1 lead.

The Panthers equalized once more in the 78th minute after being awarded a penalty kick, which Angel Gongora converted to bring the match even at 2-2.

RMU continued to press late, generating six shots in the final 12 minutes, but could not find the game-winner before time expired.
