MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Coming off its first-ever victory over Wright State on Friday night, Robert Morris continued its momentum to complete the series sweep against the Raiders after its 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21) victory on Saturday afternoon.
This is the most Horizon League wins for RMU (9-16, 5-9 HL) since joining the league in 2020.
Jocelyn Jourdan recorded a tied her career-high with 23 kills and set a new career-mark with 19 digs. Her .357 hitting percentage was also a personal-high and is the best single-match number this season.
Kaitlyn Brown guided the offense with a team-high 42 assists and tied a career-high with four blocks.
Jasmine Purakal led the back row with a match-high 26 digs.
As a team, the Colonials hit .240, which is the best mark for a conference game and third best this season. The team had 57 kills, which was the second-best this year in a 4-set match, only bettered by Friday's 59 kill performance.
Set 1: Wright State 25, Robert Morris 17
The set was tied early, but Wright State pulled away, prompting a Robert Morris timeout when the at 11-8, and the Raiders then extended their lead to 20-12. Wright State closed out the set 25-17.
Set 2: Robert Morris 25, Wright State 23
The Colonials rallied to even the match in a tightly contested second set. This set featured 13 tie scores and four lead changes. With the score tied at 19-19, RMU pulled ahead to a 24-21 set point, ultimately securing the set 25-23 on a kill by
Kaitlyn Brown.
Set 3: Robert Morris 25, Wright State 18
Robert Morris quickly established the lead, going up 5-1 and later reaching 15-9 at the media timeout. The Colonials' offense was exceptionally efficient, achieving a match-high .542 hitting percentage with 13 kills and committing zero attack errors in the set, leading to a 25-18 victory.
Set 4: Robert Morris 25, Wright State 21
The Colonials closed out the match with another strong performance in the fourth set, once again starting with an early 4-1 lead. RMU maintained their advantage, reaching a media timeout with a 15-9 lead, backed by solid offensive execution with a .255 hitting percentage in the set.
RMU hits the road for the final time in the regular season with a weekend series at Milwaukee on November 7-8. The Colonials return home to the UPMC Events Center on November 14-15, with the latter being Senior Day.
