QUOTABLES
Colonials head coach
Jexx Varner spoke after the game and gave his assessment of how the team performed, "Today was a really great day. It was wonderful to be out on the field. The bats came out hot and really did a great job having quality at bats and stringing things together. We executed the little things all day and did what was necessary to win an offensive game and turn around to win a defensive/pitching game." Varner then closed his statement about what impressed him the most today "Madelyn was really great against Sacred Heart and did a great job of keeping them off balance. Kaitlyn was excellent coming in to get those final five outs. In all we have seven newcomers this year and nearly all of them had impactful moments on day one and when you add that to strong senior experience & leadership - great things happen, like two wins!"
