MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's basketball closed out their weekend with a crucial home win against Northern Kentucky, 63-59. The Colonials have now moved to 12-14 on the season and have improved to 8-9 in Horizon League play.
 
FIRST QUARTER
	- There weren't any points scored in the first few minutes of play until Mya Murray got the ball rolling and scored four out of the Colonials first six points.
- Northern Kentucky would trade baskets with RMU throughout the stanza as there was four lead changes in the frame.
- The Norse would close out the quarter with a 15-14 but the Colonials had momentum shooting over 50 percent from the floor.
SECOND QUARTER
	- The second quarter started off as much of the same with both teams exchanging baskets until Raissa Nsabua connected on the Colonials first three-pointer of the game at the 7:47 mark.
- One of the key components in today's game was the bench factor as RMU had five points contributed off the bench while the Norse had zero in this frame.
- Isys Grady scored seven out of her 15 points in this frame, including a dagger three-pointer at the buzzer to give RMU a 31-28 advantage going to the break.
THIRD QUARTER
	- Murray once again started off this quarter with success from the floor as she made her first two shots of the frame to give RMU their largest lead at nine points.
- However, Northern Kentucky kep chipping away and would tie the game at 43 with just over a minute to go.
- Murray finished her best quarter of the game with a buzzer-beating jump shot to give RMU the 45-43 lead going to the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
	- Jada Lee got things started for the Colonials in this frame as she made two straight shots from beyond the arc to give the Colonials momentum.
- The Norse kept on fighting back as the visitors shrunk the RMU lead to just two points at the one-minute mark.
- Lee made the most crucial shot of the game thereafter to give the Colonials more of a cushion and would force Northern Kentucky to foul in the final seconds.
- Grady made two free throws with nine seconds remaining that put the game on ice as the Colonials would go onto win, 63-59.
STACKING WINS
The Colonials have been one of the most consistent teams in Horizon League play over the last month with RMU being winners of seven out of their last nine games. Since January 18
th, RMU has only given up 60 points or more in four games out of the nine total that have been played. With the recent success, the Colonials have now moved themselves into the fourth spot in the Horizon League standings with just two weeks remaining in the regular season. Senior 
Isys Grady spoke postgame about what it means to her to be able to turn the season around with this group, "Just for us to be able to come together and stay together, even when we were going through those rough patches and those challenges, for us to, you know, persevere through whatever we whatever adversity was thrown at us. and for us to be where we are now. I'm very proud of my teammates and I wouldn't ask for a different group to play with."

Chandler McCabe opened her 
postgame statement by describing what it means to win these big-time conference games at home, "It's always good to win at home, because I feel like it builds them on the momentum of the team more. So, I hope that we use this, this energy that, you know, the crowd gives, and we take that on the road when we go to Cleveland State." McCabe then spoke about the teams mindset and how to keep the squad clear-minded heading to March, "Ever since November 5, which was our first game, we have told the players that the next game is the most important game, and that's all we're going to continue to say, because Cleveland State is the most important game on schedule period."
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Isys Grady led the Colonials with 15 points in 24 minutes played. 
Mya Murray had a solid game with 12 points scoring and a team-high seven rebounds. Jade Lee filled the stat sheet as she finished the game with 10 points and a team-high six assists and four steals.
