RMU Women's Lacrosse Continues Homestand Against Mount St. Mary's

RMU Game Notes 2/26

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's lacrosse team continues their two-week home stand when they face off against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday afternoon . First draw is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and can be followed on RMU Colonials live stats.

RMU LATELY
RMU (1-3) is coming off a close loss at home against George Washington, 9-8. The Colonials got off to a slow start seeing themselves down 5-0 by the end of the first quarter. However, RMU stormed back thanks to Jenna Irwin, Mia Berthoff, and Gia Anthony who combined to score seven goals. Through four games, Irwin leads the team with 10 goals and scored nine of those just last week. Vivian LaMange leads RMU with 13 points as she leads the MAC with 10 assists this season.
 
MOUNT ST. MARY'S LATELY
MSM (2-1) have gotten off to a solid start this season by defeating Towson and Lafayette in their first two games. Most recently, the Mounties fell at home against Delaware, 12-9. Senior midfielder Anna Salerno leads Mount St. Mary's with 10 points coming off of eight goals and two assists. 


RMU AND MSM HISTORY
These two squads have faced off 15 times since the Colonials lacrosse program started in 2005. RMU owns a 7-8 record against the Mounties with the Colonials losing the last two matchups. The home and away splits tell the story in this series as RMU has a 6-1 record at home while owning a 1-6 record on the road against the Mounties.

MILESTONE WEEK
Jenna Irwin had one of the most impressive weeks in recent Colonial lacrosse history as she combined to score nine goals in two games last week. Against Lafayette, Irwin totaled a career-high six goals while scoring a hat trick against George Washington.
 
FRESHMAN IMPACT
RMU has seen their fair share of freshmen contributing to the team with Vivian Lamange, Madison Prietz, and Mia Berthoff starting each of the first four games. LaMange is first in the conference in assists while being fourth in the MAC in points per game. Also, Prietz is currently third in the MAC by averaging 3.5 ground balls per game and sits eighth in the conference with 1.5 caused turnovers per contest.

The Colonials will stay home and get ready to face off against Ohio State this Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium. First draw is scheduled for 11 a.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
