MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's hockey team hits the road for a two-game series against Bentley this weekend. The series opener is set for Friday, February 7 at 7:00 PM, followed by the finale on Saturday, February 8 at 6:00 PM. Both games will be broadcast live on FloHockey.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (9-15-4, 6-11-3 #AHA) look to bounce back after falling to Mercyhurst 4-2 and tying the Lakers 3-3 last weekend. Freshman defenseman
Dominic Elliott was a standout performer, scoring two goals on Friday and adding an assist on Saturday.
Walter Zacher also contributed with a goal and an assist in the series.
Zacher continues to lead the team in goals (13) and points (21), with his 13 goals tied for fourth-most in the AHA. Captain
Michael Craig leads in assists (14), while sophomore
Luke van Why has been a defensive anchor with a team-high 40 blocked shots.
SOLID MONTH FOR WILSON
Freshman center
Trent Wilson had a strong January, tallying one goal and seven assists. He also excelled in the faceoff circle, winning 82 draws and boasting a 57.3% faceoff win percentage. Against Mercyhurst (2/1/25), he set a career-high with 17 faceoff wins. On the season, Wilson has amassed five goals, 11 assists, and 250 faceoff wins.
ALL-TIME VS. BENTLEY
Since 2004, RMU holds a 21-17-4 (.548) all-time record against Bentley. The teams split their 2024 regular-season series, with RMU winning the opener 4-3 behind a
Cameron Garvey game-winner. In the 2024 AHA Playoffs, RMU eliminated Bentley in dramatic fashion, winning 4-3 in overtime on Garvey's clutch goal with 10 seconds left.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Bentley (14-12-2, 12-7-1 #AHA) enters the series after a 5-2 win over Army earlier this week. The Falcons sit in third place in the AHA standings.

RMU will face Niagara in a home-and-home series next weekend. The teams meet at Niagara on Friday, February 14 at 6:00 PM, before returning to Clearview Arena on Saturday, February 15 at 7:00 PM.
