HIGHLAND HILLS, Ky. – Alvaro Folgueiras scored a career-high 35 points as RMU overcame a 13-point second-half deficit to secure an 81-76 victory at Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials, winners of eight of their last nine games, improved to 18-8 overall and 10-5 in the Horizon League. The Norse fell to 11-14 overall and 6-8 in conference play.
1st HALF
RMU jumped out to an early 10-2 lead in the first five minutes of the contest. The Colonials maintained the lead until the 4:04 mark when Josh Dilling's three-pointer put NKU ahead 31-30.
Ryan Prather Jr. responded with a three-pointer on the next possession, but back-to-back threes from Dan Gherezgher and Dilling gave the Norse a 41-39 halftime lead.
2nd HALF
A 12-2 run by NKU, starting with a 48-43 lead at 18:31, extended their advantage to a game-high 58-45 at 14:46. RMU gradually chipped away at the deficit, making it a two-possession game when Folgueiras' layup cut the score to 71-67 with 5:22 remaining. This was part of RMU's 13-3 run, during which
Kam Woods tied the game at 74-74 with 1:29 left and then put the Colonials ahead by two with 53 seconds remaining. The Norse managed just one field goal in the final stretch, as
Josh Omojafo's free throws with three seconds left sealed the victory.

- Folgueiras finished with a career-high 12 field goals on 14 attempts and added 10 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season.
- Woods recorded 15 points and seven assists.
- RMU shot a season-high 53.8% from the field and has surpassed 50% in four of its last five games.
- The Colonials shot 56.5% from three-point range, their second-best effort this season from beyond the arc.
- RMU assisted on 20 of its 28 field goals.
- The last RMU player to score 35 points in a game was Rodney Pryor on December 5, 2015.
