RMU Women's Lacrosse Returns Home to Face Old Dominion

RMU Game Notes 3/26

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's lacrosse team returns home for another non-conference matchup, this time facing Old Dominion for the first time in program history. First draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Joe Walton Stadium and coverage can be seen live on ESPN+.

RMU LATELY
RMU (2-7, 1-0) are fresh off a road non-conference loss at UAlbany on Friday night, 17-9. RMU didn't have much that went right in their direction as the Colonials opened up the game with a 1-0 lead until the Great Danes scored six straight goals. RMU would trail 11-2 at the end of the first quarter and were outshot 22-2 in the game. A bright spot for RMU was freshman Mia Berthoff who tallied her first career hat trick and was 2-3 on free position shots in the game. The Colonials sit in third place in the MAC standings, just past the halfway point of the 2025 season.

OLD DOMINION LATELY
The Monarchs (8-4, 1-1) are most recently coming off a conference loss at the hands of James Madison, 18-3 but have gotten off to a good start to their season overall. The home and away splits are evident for Old Dominion this season as they are 4-4 on the road and 4-0 when they play at home. The Monarchs are led by freshman Sarah Murrell who has 34 points off of a team-high 12 goals and 30 assists. This will be the first matchup between RMU and Old Dominion in women's lacrosse.

FIRST-YEAR CONTRIBUTORS
The Colonials have seen plenty of contributors on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball as three freshmen have been making that impact and are atop the conference statistics in major categories. Vivian LaMange leads the MAC by averaging 1.89 assists per game and has 17 total which is good for second in the conference. Madison Prietz has been a standout on defense as she is third in the conference with 1.56 caused turnovers per game. Mia Berthoff has proved to be valuable on both sides of the ball as she is second on the Colonials with 12 goals and is also second on the team with 17 ground balls.

UP NEXT
RMU will go back on the road as they'll travel to play Youngstown State on Saturday evening. First draw is scheduled for 6 p.m. and can be seen streaming live on YouTube.
