FORT WAYNE, Ind. – RMU recorded its best finish at the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championship coming in fifth of 10 teams with 52 points. The Colonials won gold in the DMR and in the 3000m, silver in the 5000m and bronze in the mile and 3000m. Additionally, RMU had one fourth place finisher, a fifth and sixth.
The DMR team of
Ailena Reynolds-Diaz,
Franny Kabana,
Morgan Fuller and
Samantha Hennen took home gold (10 points) with a time of 11:57.58, breaking the record by almost 18 seconds. Hennen won gold and set the school record in the 3000m crossing in 9:34.39 besting her previous school record by over six seconds.
Julia Dill won silver (8 points) in the 5000m with a time of 17:11.01 and took bronze (6 points) in the 3000m finishing in 9:42.72. Kabana narrowly missed breaking her school record in the mile by less than a second after she crossed third with a time of 4:57.63.
