RMU Women's Lacrosse to Battle Kent State on Senior Day

RMU Game Notes 4/19

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's lacrosse team is set for their final conference home game when they battle Kent State on Saturday afternoon. First draw is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. as there will also be a Senior Day ceremony taking place pregame.

RMU LATELY
The Colonials (5-9, 3-1 #MAC) are coming off their most explosive offensive performance of the season last Saturday with a 19-11 victory over Detroit Mercy. Vivian LaMange had a program defining day as she had five goals and six assists and now owns a new program-record of 11 points in a single game. Mia Berthoff also had an impressive day with five goals and two assists while Jenna Irwin had three goals and two helpers. Chelsea Coleman tallied a pair of goals while RMU had four other players score one goal on the day.

Through 14 games, Vivian LaMange leads the MAC in assists as she averages 2.07 helpers per game. The Colonials are currently second in the MAC with a 3-1 conference record, trailing Akron (8-5, 3-1) with two regular season games remaining.

ALL-TIME VS. KENT STATE
The Colonials have had long standing success against the Golden Flashes with RMU owning a 8-1 record across their conference foe. RMU has won two games in a row against Kent State with the Colonials lone loss coming during the 2023 season. The Colonials never have a shortage of offense in the series as RMU averages over 14 goals per game against Kent State.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN FLASHES
Kent State (6-9, 1-3 #MAC) has been scuffling as of late as the Golden Flashes have lost two games in a row and are losers of four out of their last five matchups. Most recently, Kent State fell at home against Eastern Michigan 15-8.

Junior midfielder Zayda Crumpton leads Kent State with 46 points off of a team-high 33 goals along with 13 assists. Even on defense Crumpton is a threat as she leads the team in caused turnover, ground balls, and draw controls.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Vivian LaMange was tabbed MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after a historic week from the freshman attacker. She opened her week with a strong showing against Pitt, tallying two goals and one assist. She then delivered a historic performance at Detroit Mercy, recording five goals and six assists for a total of 11 points—the most ever by a Colonial in a single game. Her six assists also tie the program record, now shared with four other Colonials.

UP NEXT
The Colonials will stay home and host Mercyhurst next Wednesday night in their final non-conference matchup of the season. First draw is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
