RMU Men’s Lacrosse Remains Undefeated in NEC After 13-9 Victory Over LIU

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The RMU men's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to five games with a 13-9 victory over LIU on Saturday afternoon.
David Burr, Calum Brennan, and Nick Pelletier each recorded hat tricks for the Colonials (7-4, 4-0 NEC). Luke Prezioso added two goals and a career-high four assists. Liam Keane chipped in with a pair of goals, and goalkeeper Nate Fechter made 17 saves.
Mark Regan led the Sharks (7-3, 2-2 NEC) with four goals.

1st Quarter
After LIU opened the scoring, RMU responded with four straight goals. Burr got the Colonials on the board at 8:35, followed by Brennan and Burr scoring just six seconds apart to give RMU a 3-1 lead at 6:19. Burr netted his second of the match with 56 seconds remaining in the quarter.

2nd Quarter
RMU outscored LIU 6-1 in the second quarter. Prezioso scored twice, while Burr, Brennan, Keane, and Pelletier added goals to give the Colonials a commanding 10-2 halftime lead.

3rd Quarter
LIU opened the second half with three straight goals to cut the deficit to five. Keane ended the run with a goal at 1:36, and Pelletier scored with one second left to extend the lead to 12-5 heading into the final stanza.

4th Quarter
Pelletier completed his hat trick with RMU's lone goal of the fourth quarter.

  • Pelletier recorded his first hat trick since the 2023 season opener at Bucknell.
  • Prezioso's four assists mark a new career high.
  • Brennan notched his seventh, and Burr his sixth, multi-goal game of the season.
  • RMU remains tied with Le Moyne for first place in the NEC; the Dolphins defeated Wagner earlier today.
