Colonials Fall at Home Against Pitt

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa – The RMU women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup at Joe Walton Stadium against Pitt, 15-4

The Colonials fall to 4-9, 2-1 while the Panthers move to 7-7, 2-6 with just three regular season games remaining.

1st HALF
The Panthers got off to a fast start on offense by scoring the first four goals of the game while holding RMU scoreless for the first 10 minutes of the game. RMU got their first goal of the game when Samantha Brothers found the back of the net at the 4:22 mark. Pitt would go onto score four more goals to end the period with an 8-1 lead.

RMU wasn't able to get anything going offensively with just one shot on goal while having a game-high nine turnovers. The Colonials had a mountain to climb as they saw themselves down 11-1.

2ND HALF
After Pitt opened the quarter with a goal, it was Taylor Cadeau who notched her second goal of the season on a slick shot. The Colonials were able to control possessions as they had five draw controls in the quarter compared Pitt who had two. The Colonials closed out the frame with a goal by Vivian LaMange but trailed Pitt 15-3 heading to the final stanza.

The Colonials were looking to get more points on the board as Vivian LaMange would pick up her second tally of the game less than a minute into the frame. RMU wasn't able complete the comeback and lost at home 15-4.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Vivian LaMange led the Colonials with two goals as she also had an assist against Pitt. Sam Brothers and Taylor Cadeau were the other Colonial goal scorers in the matchup. Eliana LaMange and Mia Berthoff each tallied an assist against the Panthers.

UP NEXT
The Colonials will go back on the road into conference play as they'll face off against Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. First draw is scheduled for 3 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
