MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU men's soccer defender Fabian Overkamp has been named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week, following a career-best performance against Detroit Mercy.
 
This is Overkamp's first weekly honor from the Horizon League and the second of his career, as he was named a CACC Defender of the Week in his freshman year.
 
In RMU's conference opener, the team put on an offensive clinic, beating the Titans 4-0. Overkamp factored in on three of the goals, scoring his first career two-goal game and adding his first career assist.
 
A native of Konigswinter, Germany, Overkamp has been a consistent presence on RMU's backline for three seasons, appearing in 40 games with 37 starts.
 
Up next, the Colonials will host another conference game, welcoming Northern Kentucky on Saturday, September 20 at 4:00 PM.
