MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU softball outfielder
Courtney Poulich has been named to D1Softball's Preseason Mid-Major Top 100 list heading into the 2026 season. The recognition marks the first-ever preseason Mid-Major list released by D1Softball.
A redshirt senior from Greensburg, Pa., Poulich was ranked No. 80 on the list and was the lone representative from the Horizon League.
Poulich is coming off one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history after helping guide RMU to its first Horizon League Championship in 2025. Her impact at the plate powered one of the most prolific offensive campaigns the Colonials have ever produced.
During the 2025 season, Poulich set program records for home runs in a season (16), RBIs (53), runs scored (45) and home runs in a single game (3). Her production helped RMU establish new single-season team records in RBIs (258), home runs (50), doubles (79) and stolen bases (74).
On the year, Poulich posted a .336 batting average with a .412 on-base percentage, collecting 50 total hits. She was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen base attempts and finished with a .785 slugging percentage, which ranked second in the Horizon League. She ranked first in the conference in home runs and RBI's.
Her standout regular season performance carried into the postseason as RMU went undefeated during its Horizon League Tournament run. In three playoff games, Poulich totaled three home runs, five RBIs and five runs scored, earning Horizon League Tournament MVP honors.
Following the championship run, the Colonials advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2005. Poulich made history in RMU's regional matchup against Auburn, launching a solo home run to become the first Colonial to homer in NCAA Regional play.
Throughout the 2025 campaign, Poulich garnered numerous accolades, including Horizon League All-League First Team honors, two Horizon League Player of the Week awards, NFCA Player of the Week Honorable Mention recognition, Horizon League All-Academic Team selection and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.
Poulich and the Colonials will open the 2026 season at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C., from February 13-15. RMU is scheduled to face host Winthrop along with Kent State and Le Moyne.
