MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The nominees for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award have been announced, and RMU junior forward Tanner Klimpke will represent the Colonials for college hockey's most prestigious individual honor.
 
A team captain, Klimpke has been a driving force for RMU this season, leading the Colonials in both goals (8) and points (14). The Calgary, Alberta native also paces the team with 62 shots on goal, has recorded one game-winning goal, and has contributed defensively with 15 blocked shots.
 
Klimpke's strong play has earned conference recognition during the 2025–26 season, as he has been named Atlantic Hockey America Forward of the Week once this year.
 
Over the course of his collegiate career, Klimpke has collected two weekly conference honors and was named the Hockey Commissioners Association Forward of the Month in December of 2024, further establishing himself as one of the league's top offensive contributors.
 
Awarded annually to college hockey's top player, the Hobey Baker's fan-voting will run from Wednesday, January 21 until Sunday, March 8 at midnight. College hockey fans can cast their vote by going to the voting website hobeybaker.com/vote. Throughout phase one of voting, video highlights of each of the nominees will be featured on Instagram.
 
Phase two of fan balloting will feature the Top Ten Hobey Baker finalists beginning March 18 and closing March 29. The fans' vote accounts for a percentage of the total ballot in each phase in selecting this year's award recipient.

The 2026 Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced from a field of three Hobey Hat Trick finalists on Friday, April 10 during the NCAA Frozen Four Championship in Las Vegas, Nv.
