Prather Leads RMU Men’s Basketball to 88-76 victory over Milwaukee

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.Ryan Prather Jr. scored 23 points and distributed five assists to lead Robert Morris (13-8, 5-5 HL) to an 88-76 victory over Milwaukee (8-13, 4-6 HL) on Thursday night at the UPMC Events Center.
 
Prather shot 8-for-12 from the field, marking his fourth straight 20-point game. DeSean Goode added 15 points and recorded eight rebounds while shooting 5-for-8, setting a career-high with four assists. Kaleb Brown blocked two shots and dished out five assists to go along with his eight points, while Nikolaos Chitikoudis scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and collected six rebounds.
 
Amar Augillard led Milwaukee with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including two 3-pointers. Chandler Jackson contributed 15 points, hitting 5 of 11 shots from the field and recording four steals.
 
1st HALF
Robert Morris used an 11-2 run starting at the 18:04 mark to take a 13-7 lead into the under-16 media timeout. The Colonials stayed ahead until a Stevie Elam three-pointer put Milwaukee in front 26-24. After three lead changes and one tie, RMU went on a 12-0 run to earn its first double-digit lead at 43-33. Five different players scored during that stretch, which was capped off by a Goode three-pointer with 1:22 remaining. Milwaukee's Sekou Konneh then made a layup to close out the period, making the score 43-35 in favor of Robert Morris at halftime.
 
2nd HALF
Robert Morris maintained control throughout the second half, pushing the lead to 15 points at the 10:23 mark following a Samuel Obenjo dunk that made the score 67-52. Milwaukee attempted to close the gap, cutting the deficit to nine points at 70-61 with 8:36 remaining and again at the 3:05 mark. However, the Colonials responded to every Milwaukee push, holding a double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
 
UP NEXT
RMU remains at the UPMC Events Center for a meeting with Green Bay on Saturday, January 24 at 2 PM. The homestand concludes on Wednesday, January 28 at 7 PM with a rematch against IU Indy, which will be aired live on SportsNet Pittsburgh.
