DAYTON, Ohio – The RMU women's basketball team picked up its second win in a row, defeating Wright State 74-53 on the road in Ohio following big performances from
Myriam Traore and
Ava Leroux.
FIRST QUARTER
- A big 9-0 run by the Colonials in the first quarter quickly put RMU out front of Wright State 11-3 with 5:41 on the clock.
- Wright State took the lead with 1:02 left in the first quarter following a 10-0 run by the Raiders that was broken up by an Eva Levingston layup to make it 18-17 RMU going into the second quarter.
- In the first quarter, RMU shot 33.3% from the floor, going 5-for-15.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Colonials had a huge quarter defensively, holding Wright State to just five points in the second quarter.
- Wright State started the quarter out with all five of their points coming in just the first 35 seconds, with the Raiders taking a 22-18 lead.
- RMU closed out the half on a massive 19-0 run, which featured 9-for-16 shooting. The Colonials closed out the first half leading 37-22.
THIRD QUARTER
- To start the third quarter, the Colonials extended their run to 23-0 following back-to-back layups by Eva Levingston, to lead Wright State 41-22.
- Wright State put together a 5-0 run to cut the score to 41-27 with the Colonials still out front.
- Over the last six minutes of the quarter, RMU went on a 14-12 run to find themselves up 55-39 with one more quarter to go.
- In the third quarter, the Colonials shot an impressive 60% from the floor, going 6-for-10.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Colonials started the fourth quarter on a 5-0 run, with Myriam Traore connecting on a three-point basket and a jumper to put RMU up 60-39.
- An 8-0 run by the Raiders cut the Colonials lead down to 13, with RMU still leading Wright State 60-47.
- RMU closed out the match on a 7-0 run to secure the 74-53 win over Wright State.
- The Colonials closed out the final quarter shooting 50% from the floor while also going 50% from beyond the arc.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Myriam Traore and
Ava Leroux came through for the Colonials again, with Traore scoring a game-high 22 points while going an impressive 6-for-8 from deep, while
Ava Leroux set a new career-high with 19 points along with eight rebounds. Leroux went 75% from the floor, shooting 6-for-8.
Eva Levingston was the third Colonial to post double digits with 12 points along with six rebounds.
Jada Lee dished out a team-high seven assists to lead the Colonials.
From the floor, RMU shot 48.1% while Wright State was held to 35.1% from the floor. The Colonials also controlled the glass, dominating the Raiders 43-26 on the boards. RMU scored 38 out of 74 points in the paint.

The Colonials now sit at 14-6 overall and 7-4 in conference play and will continue their three-game road stretch at Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Indiana.
