QUOTABLE – HEAD COACH JEXX VARNER
On game one: "It was good to knock the rust off and play someone other than ourselves. We had our opportunities in game one but just didn't execute and string enough together. Borrayo was great, locking Kent State down and giving us a chance. That was a big outing for her."
On game two: "The offense showed out in game two and Molitoris did a great job settling in after a tough first inning. We just missed a few balls on defense in that first that led to their big inning, but our offense responded big time. Top to bottom, our lineup made great and quick adjustments off three different pitchers – that can be tough early in the season, but it wasn't today so that's a great sign for the coming weeks."
