Livingston’s Career-High 24 Leads RMU Men’s Basketball Past First Place Wright State 81-68

DAYTON, Ohio -  Darius Livingston scored a career-high 24 points to lead Robert Morris to a commanding 81-68 victory over first-place Wright State in front of a national audience on ESPNU. With the win, the Colonials improve to 19-10 (11-7 HL), while the Raiders fall to 18-11 (13-5 HL) on the season.

DeSean Goode added 16 points on 8-for-10 shooting and had three steals, marking his 25th double-figure scoring game this season. Nikolaos Chitikoudis posted 17 points while nearly securing a double-double with nine rebounds. Ryan Prather Jr. dished out six assists with just one turnover in 35 minutes. Ta'Zir Smith contributed 13 points.

Wright State's Michael Cooper tallied 19 points, converting 6 of his 12 shots, including two from beyond the arc, and sinking all five free throws. TJ Burch supported with 11 points.

1st HALF
RMU established paint dominance early in the first half by scoring 20 of their first 26 points in the paint, never trailed during the period. While the contest remained a two-possession affair for much of the half, Smith's three-pointer at the 5:26 mark stretched the lead to 30-21. Prather then capped off the scoring with a timely buzzer-beater—his only points of the half—to send RMU into the locker room with a 39-29 advantage.

2nd HALF
RMU initially pushed their lead to 14 points early in the second half following a coast-to-coast steal and layup by Goode, but Wright State battled back, cutting the deficit to just five points with 7:14 remaining. Robert Morris responded to the pressure with a crucial five-point surge from Chitikoudis to regain a double-digit cushion and halt the comeback attempt. The Colonials eventually pulled away for good, reaching their largest lead of 16 points in the final minute to secure the victory.

HEAD COACH ANDY TOOLE
"The defense stood up for 40 minutes and was probably our most consistent defense for the entire season. And Darius was phenomenal, he was awesome all night. We just got to get back to work when we go back to Pittsburgh, and we got to get ready for Wednesday night."

UP NEXT
Robert Morris returns home to the UPMC Events Center to close out the regular season, beginning with a matchup against Detroit Mercy (14-13, 11-7 HL) on Wednesday, February 25.
