MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -
Ryan Prather Jr. scored 26 of his career-high 29 points in the 2
nd half to lead Robert Morris (20-10, 12-7 HL) to its sixth straight victory – 73-62 over Detroit Mercy (14-14, 11-8 HL) on Wednesday night at the UPMC Events Center. The Colonials have reached back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2013-14 and 2014-15, when they won 22 and 20 games, respectively.
DeSean Goode recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, contributing five offensive boards.
Nikolaos Chitikoudis also posted a double-double, scoring 13 points and matching Goode's 12 rebounds while adding two blocks.
Darius Livingston facilitated the offense with six assists and three steals.
Orlando Lovejoy led the Titans with 19 points, hitting 7 of 13 from the field and adding four assists. Ryan Kalambay recorded five blocks and two steals while contributing 10 points and nine rebounds. TJ Nadeau added 12 points, including two 3-pointers, before fouling out.
1st HALF
Robert Morris kept things tight early, trailing by just a single point until Detroit Mercy ignited an 11-3 run, pushing the Titans' lead to 22-13 by the under-8 media timeout.
The Colonials answered with an 8-2 run of their own to narrow the deficit to 24-21 as they headed into the under-4 break. The comeback was nearly completed when a clutch three-pointer from Goode knotted the score at 26-26 with only 38 seconds remaining in the period. However, UDM managed to reclaim the momentum just before the buzzer, as a Legend Geeter layup sent the Titans into the locker room with a slim 28-26 advantage.
2nd HALF
RMU took its first lead since the early minutes of the game following a Prather 3-pointer and a Goode layup, making the score 31-30. The game remained tight until Lovejoy scored five straight points to give UDM a 42-39 lead with 11:19 remaining. The teams then traded baskets, resulting in two lead changes and a 47-47 tie at the under-8 media timeout.
Trailing 52-49, Prather hit a 3-pointer and converted the free throw to put RMU ahead by one. This sparked an 11-0 run that extended the lead to 62-52 with 3:47 left. While the lead reached 11 points, UDM narrowed the gap to 67-61 with 1:25 remaining. However, UDM missed its final five field goal attempts to end the game. Prather finished the half scoring 26 of RMU's 47 points.
UP NEXT
RMU looks to carry this momentum into Saturday for Senior Day as they host Cleveland State (10-20, 6-13 HL) at 1 p.m. The Vikings arrive in Moon Township following an 81-70 loss to Northern Kentucky earlier this evening. This is the regular-season finale before the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Championship.
