Colonials Visit Fighting Irish for Non-Conference Matchup in South Bend

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Colonials are back in action on Tuesday night as RMU (3-6, 1-1 MAC) travels to South Bend, Indiana, to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. First draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Arlotta Family Lacrosse Stadium.

RMU LATELY
The Colonials are coming off a 5-4 loss to conference opponent Youngstown State last Thursday at Joe Walton Stadium. RMU currently sits at 3-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Back on March 14, the Colonials secured their first conference win of the season, defeating Central Michigan 8-7 in double overtime off a Jade Doldo game-winner.

Against the Penguins, in a back-and-forth affair, RMU tied the contest up with 7:44 left in the third quarter off a Taylor Burkett goal to make it 4-4, sending the contest into the final quarter before Youngstown State would strike with 9:41 with the eventual game-winner as Ava Kreutzer snuck one past the goalie off an assist from Gwen Bogash to make it 5-4. Youngstown State's defense locked the Colonials out for the rest of the quarter, which included forcing some key turnovers late into the game to hand the Colonials the 5-4 loss, and ending a six-game win streak against the Penguins for RMU.

In the contest, four different Colonials recorded a goal, with Amanda Dolis, Jade Doldo, Gabi Puzevic, and Burkett all putting up goals for the Colonials. Burkett and Lea Otts posted the lone assists for the Colonials in the loss.
