ERIE, Pa. — History was made on Saturday afternoon as Robert Morris won its program-record ninth straight game in an 18-5 victory at Mercyhurst.
Dylan Anderson scored four times, including the game-winner, and
Ben Eck added four points for the Colonials (10-3, 5-0 NEC), who have not lost since Feb. 17.
Tommy Linehan scored two goals, while
Cristian Davis controlled possessions by winning 11 of 16 faceoffs and picking up nine ground balls.
Nate Fechter and
Brady Carver combined for 11 saves for RMU.
First Quarter
The game commenced with the Lakers surrendering control early in the first quarter. Eck opened the scoring with a goal at 11:03, setting the tone for the visitors. Shortly after,
Koerner Marechek doubled the lead at 10:08, maintaining momentum for the Colonials.
Graeme MacLennan added to the tally with a goal at 6:08, and
Luke Prezioso capped off the frame with a goal at 00:59, resulting in a commanding 4–0 lead for RMU at the end of the period.
Second Quarter
Colonials attackers took full control in the second quarter with an offensive surge, highlighted by
Luis Gonzalez scoring his seventh goal of the season at 11:20. Anderson followed with two goals, assisted by
Liam Blakely and Eck, extending the lead.
Joel McCormick and Linehan each added a goal, bolstering the dominant performance by RMU.
Tommy Mullikin capped off the quarter with a goal, bringing the total to six goals in the period. As the quarter ended, the Lakers trailed 10–0.
Third Quarter
The Colonials stayed aggressive early in the third quarter with a goal by Anderson at 14:13, assisted by
Nathan Ruff. This was quickly followed by
Calum Brennan's goal at 13:32, assisted by McCormick. Brennan added another goal at 12:14, with Eck providing the assist, extending momentum for RMU. Prezioso then scored at 11:24, assisted by
Ryan Stiefel, and Anderson capped the quarter with his final goal at 2:40. Mercyhurst responded with goals from Rob Madden at 6:56 and Chase Gottstein with 19 seconds remaining, but it was not enough to close the gap. The quarter ended with the Colonials leading 15–2.
Fourth Quarter
The Lakers saw the lead grow again as
Elijah Edwards opened the fourth quarter with a goal at 13:48. Despite a response from Mercyhurst shortly afterward, RMU maintained momentum with a goal from Linehan at 2:30 following a turnover. Later,
Dylan Garcia scored for the Colonials at 1:28, ensuring a strong finish on the road. The quarter concluded with both teams scoring three goals each, resulting in a final score of 18–5.

RMU returns home on April 18 against LIU for Senior Day. The Colonials currently hold a half-game lead over the Sharks (9-1, 4-0 NEC), who host VMI tomorrow morning. The regular season officially wraps up for RMU at Wagner on April 25.
