RMU LATELY
The Colonials are coming off a non-conference loss to the Pitt Panthers, falling 15-10 in downtown Pittsburgh on Wednesday evening. In the loss,
Mia Berthoff and
Samantha Brothers each recorded a hat trick to lead the Colonials offensively, while
Lea Otts recorded three assists, all on Brother's goals, bringing her season total to 17. In goal,
Lucy Carney tied a season-high with 14 saves while allowing 15 goals on the nightcap.
DRAWING IN
Midfielder
Madison Prietz is drawing in on a career milestone, as the sophomore from Eldersburg, Maryland, has recorded 99 career draw controls and is just one away from 100 after recording three against Pitt. During her freshman campaign, Prietz recorded 55 draw controls and, so far this season, has recorded a team-leading 44.
LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS
- Mia Berthoff continues to lead the Colonials in goals scored with 26 on the season. Berthoff also leads RMU in points with 35 total on the season and is just 11 away from 100 career points.
- Madison Prietz has provided all-around statistics for the Colonials, recording seven goals, six assists, 13 points, 29 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers, and a team-leading 44 draw controls.
- In goal, Lucy Carney has posted a 3-5 record, recording 89 saves with a .454 save percentage in 11 games played. Carney has posted double-digit saves four times this season.
- Offensively, the Colonials are ranked sixth in the MAC in goals per game (6.79) on the season, while ranked fifth in points per game (10.07).
RMU AND EASTERN MICHIGAN HISTORY
Through four contests, the Colonials have remained perfect against Eastern Michigan. On the road against the Eagles, RMU is 1-0. The Colonials have scored 53 total goals against Eastern Michigan, averaging out to 13.25 per game.
LAST DRAW
The pair last met back on March 16, 2025, as the Colonials secured a 10-9 win after a massive seven-goal fourth quarter to take down the Eagles. RMU found themselves down 6-3 entering the fourth quarter but stormed back, outscoring Eastern Michigan 7-3 in the final frame.
In the win,
Samantha Brothers had two goals and one assist to lead the Colonials, while
Mia Berthoff also recorded two goals.
SCOUTING EASTERN MICHIGAN
The Eagles are looking to get back into the win column after dropping a conference contest to UMass last Saturday, falling 14-4 at Scicluna Field. Eastern Michigan boasts an 8-6 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference play. The Eagles have been successful at home, posting a 5-2 record on their home turf.
Eastern Michigan is currently ranked third in the conference in goals per game, with the Eagles averaging 11.00 per game, led by Mackenzie Blackwell, who is ranked fourth in the conference in goals per game, averaging 2.64 and totaling 37 on the season.
