RMU LATELY
The Colonials are returning to Moon Township with a win after defeating non-conference opponent Mercyhurst 12-10 on the road on Wednesday evening. In the win, five different Colonials posted multiple goals, with
Greta Burns,
Gabi Puzevic,
Mia Berthoff,
Madison Prietz, and
Amanda Dolis all scoring two goals apiece. On the evening, RMU outshot the Lakers 37-20 and won the draw control, with a 14-10 advantage, led by Prietz with a team-high seven in the win.
LUCKY NUMBER 100
In Wednesday's win over the Lakers, freshman goalkeeper
Lucy Carney recorded the 100
th save of her career, posting six saves on the night to bring her total to 103 on the season. Carney is 4-6 on the season and has made 13 appearances in the net for RMU, earning nine starts. In MAC individual statistics, Carney is ranked fourth in the conference for saves per game, averaging 7.92 per game.
LOCKING IT DOWN
Junior
Anabel Kreydt was selected as the MAC Defensive Player of the Week after her strong performances against Pittsburgh and Eastern Michigan last week. Kreydt, a junior from Springfield, Pennsylvania, provided a strong week defensively for the Colonials, racking up six ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Against Pittsburgh, Kreydt tied a career-high in ground balls with four, and posted a career-high four caused turnovers against Eastern Michigan.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore midfielder Mia Berthoff is nearing 30 goals on the season after putting up two more in the win over Mercyhurst. Through 16 games, Berthoff has posted eight multi-goal games, including six hat tricks. Berthoff also leads the team in points, with 40 on the season, and is closing in on 100 for her career, currently sitting at 94.
- Freshman Lea Otts has now posted double-digits in goals (10), assists (20), and points (30). Otts leads the team in assists and is ranked ninth in the conference in assists per game, averaging 1.25 per contest.
- Madison Prietz recently eclipsed 100 career draw controls against Eastern Michigan, before adding seven more to her total on Wednesday night to give her 107 in her career and a team-leading 52 this season.
SENIOR SENDOFF
Following the conclusion of Saturday's contest, the RMU women's lacrosse program will honor its three seniors,
Emma Hawks,
Emma Marchan, and
Samantha Brothers, for their hard work and dedication to the program over the last four years.
RMU AND DETROIT MERCY HISTORY
The Colonials have found success over Detroit Mercy, winning the all-time series 12-2 since the teams first met in 2013. RMU will look to keep its three-game winning streak against the Titans alive, with the Colonials posting a 5-1 record at home and a 9-1 record in their last 10 matchups.
LAST DRAW
The pair last met on May 1, 2025, with RMU securing a 13-9 MAC semifinal victory to advance to their fourth straight MAC Championship Game. In the win,
Samantha Brothers posted two goals, while
Madison Prietz chipped in with a goal of her own. The Colonials outshot Detroit, Mercy 29-21, and handled the draw controls, posting a 16-10 advantage in the circle.
SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
The Titans are looking to pick up their first win of the season, with Detroit Mercy currently sitting at 0-11 overall and 0-6 in the MAC. Detroit Mercy is most recently coming off a 22-3 loss to conference leader UMass last Saturday.
Looking at the statistics, Detroit Mercy is led by the duo of Alyssa Jarvis and Libby Cuckler. Jarvis has posted a team-high 20 goals, 13 assists, and 33 points, while Cuckler has recorded 17 goals, six assists, and 23 points.
In goal, three different Titans have seen action, with Emily Coyne leading the way with 11 games played, earning nine starts. Coyne has allowed 134 goals on the season while recording 70 saves.

The Colonials will need to secure a win and await the results of the rest of the conference contests on Saturday to see if the Colonials will earn a berth to the MAC Conference Championship as the No. 4 seed. The tournament will be hosted at Joe Walton Stadium from April 30 through May 1.
