CAMDEN, N.J. - The RMU women's rowing team finished up the 2026 spring season at the Dad Vail Regatta, with the Frosh/Novice 4+ taking home a first-place finish to highlight the day.
 

FROSH/NOVICE 4+

The Frosh/Novice 4+ led the Colonials on the day, taking home a first-place finish in the "A" finals ahead of crews from Miami, Loyola Maryland, Brock, Drake, and Tampa. The Colonials crossed in a time of 08:03.270 to secure gold, nearly five seconds ahead of the crew from Miami. The crew was made up of McKenzie Gibson, Sabrina Kasic, Claire Roberts, Olivia Smith, and Marta Perez Martinez.
 

2V4+ A

Also competing in the grand final for the Colonials was the 2V4+ A crew of Caroline Osborne, Sophia Updyke, Maggie Moore, Gabrielle Parrent, and Michayla Amalfitano. In their final race, the 2V4+ A crew finished in fourth place, behind crews from Georgetown, Temple, and MIT. The Colonials crossed in a time of 08:32.990.
 

"B" FINALS

The two other crews to compete on Saturday were the V4+ and 2V4+ A crews, with both racing in the "B" finals. In the V4+ race, the colonials finished in second in the "B" final, ahead of crews from Monmouth, Fordham, Mercyhurst, and Loyola Maryland. The crew finished in 08:05.890. In the 2V4+ B race, RMU placed third in the "B" finals, crossing in a time of 08:58.170 behind crews Mercyhurst and Albany.

"We wrapped up racing and our season today. It was a very positive end of the season, including an outstanding first-place finish from our Frosh/Novice 4+, and we built some great momentum heading into next year. Our two seniors, Sarah Madey and Bethany Rosato, finished their RMU careers with strong performances in the finals today. They've definitely left their mark on the team and program and will be missed by everyone.
