MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Robert Morris junior defenseman
Owen Tapper has been named a USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention, as announced by the publication on Thursday.
Tapper becomes the latest Colonial to receive national recognition following a season in which he anchored one of the premier defensive units in the NEC. He led RMU to back-to-back NEC championships and consecutive NCAA Tournament berths. Under his defensive leadership, the Colonials established a new program record with 14 victories during the 2026 campaign.
The NEC Defensive Player of the Year proved to be one of the most disruptive forces in the country this season. Tapper finished the year ranked 17th nationally in caused turnovers, averaging 1.94 per game.
All-Americans were selected by the USA Lacrosse Magazine staff with comprehensive input from NCAA coaches and conferences across the country.
