MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU head volleyball coach Danny Doherty has announced the addition of Hanna Borer as assistant coach and Macy Stoddard as technical coordinator for the 2026 season.

A native of Lewis Center, Ohio, Borer joins the Colonials after gaining experience in a variety of coaching roles, most recently serving as the head coach of the Wink Lady Cats Volleyball Club.

Prior to her head coaching role, Borer worked as a mentor for Athlete to Athlete, an online mentoring platform that helps young athletes navigate their athletic and personal development. She began her coaching career at the Advancement Academy in Lewis Center, where she provided private instruction, directed camps and coached high-level training sessions.

A former Division I setter, Borer brings an accomplished playing résumé to Moon Township.

She concluded her collegiate career at Florida Gulf Coast in 2025, appearing in 28 matches while leading the Eagles with 713 assists. She also ranked third on the team with 240 digs and added 22 service aces during her lone season in Fort Myers.

Before transferring to FGCU, Borer spent the 2024 season at Texas Tech, where she appeared in 29 matches with 24 starts. She led the Red Raiders with 693 assists while averaging 7.37 assists per set.

Borer began her collegiate career at Virginia Tech, appearing in 57 matches over the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

As a sophomore in 2023, she made 26 starts and totaled 827 assists (8.72 per set), 213 digs, 51 kills and 25 service aces, finishing second on the team in aces.

During her freshman season, Borer played in all 107 sets, recording 763 assists and 233 digs while posting 13 double-doubles—the most by an ACC freshman that year. She earned ACC Co-Freshman of the Week honors twice and was named to the 2022 ACC Academic Team.

Borer graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor's degree in integrated studies and will begin her first season on the RMU coaching staff this fall.

Hanna has been part of successful programs throughout her career, and I know she'll make an immediate impact on our student-athletes, our culture, and the continued growth of RMU volleyball."

No stranger to RMU Volleyball, Macy Stoddard will move into the role of Technical Coordinator after spending last season as a volunteer assistant under Doherty. 

A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Stoddard most recently served as head coach of the Renaissance Volleyball Club 15 White Cranberry team in Pittsburgh. She also spent time as an assistant coach at Union Area Middle School in New Castle during the spring of 2024.

A former collegiate student-athlete, Stoddard played four seasons at Westminster College, where she helped lead the Titans to Presidents' Athletic Conference championships in 2020 and 2021. She served as team captain during the 2022 and 2023 seasons and was a two-time selection to the PAC Academic Honor Roll.

Stoddard is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Philosophy in Pharmacology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Stoddard also earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2025 after graduating from Westminster College in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience.

She has an incredible drive to be elite at what she does. That passion is evident in the countless hours she's dedicated to improving our technology and analytics so our student-athletes can continue to grow and succeed. Beyond the impact she makes on the court, we're incredibly fortunate to have Macy as part of our program. Her passion, work ethic, and commitment to our student-athletes make her an invaluable member of our staff, and we're excited to continue building the future of RMU volleyball alongside her."

The Colonials are slated to kick off the 2026 regular season on August 28th at the UCF Invitational in Orlando. Florida.
