JoAnn Beatty
Women's Basketball (1987-89)
A Pittsburgh native, Beatty ranks 10th all-time at Robert Morris in career points (1,188) and fourth all-time in career rebounds (763). Named the 1988 ECAC Metro Conference Most Valuable Player after leading the Colonials to the conference title that season, Beatty came to Robert Morris after transferring from Old Dominion University after one year.
Tim Hall
Football (1994-95)
The team’s inaugural running back, Hall established every rushing record at Robert Morris in his two years on the team, rushing for 2,908 yards on his career, which now ranks second all-time, and a single-season record 1,572 yards in 1995. His 278 yards against Bethany Nov. 5, 1994 still stands as the single-game record. Hall established the NCAA FCS record by averaging 8.7 yards per carry in 1994, and in 1995 he was named an NCAA I-AA All-American according to The Associated Press. He passed away in September of 1998.
Ron Hightower
Men's Basketball (1970-72)
In just two seasons at Robert Morris as a junior college player, Hightower scored 935 career points playing both guard and forward. A two-time All-American under former head coach Gus Krop, Hightower averaged 18.0 points per game in 1970-71 and 23.5 points a contest in 1971-72. He is a native of Pittsburgh.
Richard Lesnak
Athletic Director (1965-75)
Also a math instructor at Robert Morris, Lesnak served as RMU’s athletic director from 1965-75, and during that time the program grew from one sport (basketball) to eight (four men’s, four women’s teams). He is a native of Donora, Pa.
