RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (9/17/08)
Earning the RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 17, 2008, is sophomore C.G. Mercatoris of the men's golf team. A native of Brookville, Pa., Mercatoris helped guide the Colonials to a fourth-place finish at the Bucknell Fall Invitational last weekend. In the first day of action Mercatoris, a finance major, tied a career-low round with a score of 72, then smashed his previous best with a 66 in the second round to finish the two-day tournament with a score of 138. That total helped him finish second individually in the tournament. For those efforts, Mercatoris was tabbed the NEC Men's Golfer of the Week.
