RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (11/4/09)

Earning the latest RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor is junior forward Nathan Longpre of the ice hockey team. A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Longpre became the first Colonial in school history to score four goals in a game when he turned the trick in an 8-5 victory over No. 18 Quinnipiac (10/31) at the RMU Island Sports Center. The victory helped the Colonials earn a split in the two-game series and gave the Bobcats their first loss of the season. For his efforts in the win over Quinnipiac, which also included an assist for five points, Longpre was tabbed the College Hockey America (CHA) Offensive Player of the Week. Through six games of the 2009-10 season he leads Robert Morris with nine points. Longpre is a sport management major.
