RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (5/6/09)

Becoming the fourth member of the Robert Morris softball team to garner the RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2009 spring season is freshman pitcher Alexa Bryson. Bryson notched her NEC-high 19th victory with a 3-0 shutout of Quinnipiac (5/2/09) that helped the Colonials clinch the No. 2 seed in the 2009 NEC Tournament. The native of Greensburg, Pa., scattered five hits in the her fourth shutout of the season, striking out eight. On the 2009 season Bryson owns a record of 19-5 with a 2.26 earned run average and 184 strikeouts. She ranks second in the conference in strikeouts and fifth in ERA. Bryson is a management major.
