RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (4/13/11)
In leading Robert Morris to a pair of wins last weekend, senior midfielder Ashley Trombetta of the lacrosse team earns the latest RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor. A native of Sykesville, Md., Trombetta exploded offensively for the Colonials last week, compiling eight goals and four assists for 12 points in leading RMU to victories at Wagner (4/8) and Long Island (4/10). In a 14-1 victory over the Seahawks, Trombetta scored three goals and dished out three assists to help propel RMU to the win. Two days later the elementary education major scored five goals and added an assist in a 19-8 win over the Blackbirds in Brookyn, N.Y. On the 2011 campaign Trombetta is tied for team-high honors in points with 33 while leading Robert Morris in assists (11) and ranking second in goals (22).
