Recently completing his first season at Robert Morris University as an assistant coach for quarterbacks is Jeff Sinclair.
Sinclair helped Paul Jones adjust to a new offense in his first season in the program. Jones responded by leading the league, and ranking 15th nationally, in passing yards per completion (13.53). Jones also ranked third in the league in passing touchdowns and fourth in total offense with Sinclair’s assistance.
When Jones was sidelined with an injury in late October, Sinclair’s efforts in preparing backup Marcus Prather helped the rookie fill in admirably in a conference road game. Earning his first collegiate start, Prather completed 17-of-33 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. The most impressive aspect of Prather was his poise as he directed a game-winning, eight-play drive in the final minutes to lead RMU to a win.
Sinclair earned All-Northeast Conference First Team honors in 2010 after quarterbacking Robert Morris to the NEC title. He appeared in 36 career games, each as a member of the starting lineup. Sinclair provided Robert Morris with 6,689 yards of total offense in his career and was responsible for 74 touchdowns, both of which rank second all-time at RMU. He finished third in the school record book in career passing touchdowns (57) and is fourth in both career passing yards (5,831) and career completions (444).
Sinclair was a versatile quarterback that could generate offense with his legs as evidenced by his 17 career rushing touchdowns, a school record for a quarterback and among the top five overall in RMU history. He completed his career with 858 rushing yards and led the team on seven game-winning drives in the fourth quarter, a school record. He is the only student-athlete in school history to have multiple seasons with at least 2,000 yards of total offense. Sinclair tallied 20 games with multiple touchdown passes and threw for at least 200 yards in 11 contests.
Sinclair earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from RMU in 2013.
