Connor Bennink joined the Robert Morris men’s golf coaching staff in 2025 following an accomplished collegiate career at both Gannon University and Coastal Carolina University, as well as a championship season as an assistant coach at Gannon.
 
Bennink spent three seasons at Gannon (2019–2022), where he became one of the most decorated players in program history. He was named the 2022 PSAC Player of the Year, earned First Team All-PSAC honors in 2021 and 2022 (Second Team in 2020), and was a three-time PING/GCAA All-Atlantic Region selection. Academically he was a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American in 2022, earned the PSAC Top 10 Award, the NCAA Academic Achievement Award (2021 & 2022), and the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Elite 90 Award in 2022 for the highest cumulative GPA at the National Championship. During his Gannon career, Bennink set multiple program records, including lowest 54-hole total (204). He earned victories at the Malone Glenmoor Invitational and the Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invitational. Bennink also led Gannon to three NCAA Regional appearances and two NCAA Division II National Championship berths.
 
After transferring to Coastal Carolina University, Bennink competed at the Division I level, posting multiple top 20 finishes in Sun Belt Conference play before graduating in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. In total, Connor earned 20 career collegiate top 10 finishes, 11 top five finishes, and two individual tournament wins in 35 events.
 
Connor also enjoys competing in Amateur tournaments and is a two-time EDGA amateur champion; he holds the EDGA scoring record of 201 (-15) from his 7-shot win in 2023 at Lawrence Park Golf Club.
 
Before arriving at Robert Morris, Bennink returned to Gannon as an assistant coach, where he helped guide the Golden Knights to the 2025 PSAC Men’s Golf Championship.
 
A native of Philadelphia, Bennink is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) working in Pittsburgh.
