Moon Township, Pa - Senior Brooke Panepinto (Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle Vernon) of the Robert Morris University softball team picked up her second award of the week as she was named ECAC's Division I Player of the Week. Just yesterday, Panepinto was recognized for her accomplishments by the Northeast Conference.
The senior, who holds the RMU career record for highest batting average, belted two blasts in consecutive plate appearances against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies last Wednesday. She then followed up with three more strong performances in Robert Morris' opening weekend of NEC play.
Panepinto currently boasts the seventh highest batting average in the NEC and third highest average for the Colonials, coming in at .370. In 24 games this season, she has tallied 27 hits, 10 runs and 11 RBI.
Tomorrow afternoon, Panepinto will look to lead the Colonials as they take on the Kent State Golden Flashes in a home double feature. Game time has been changed to 3:00 p.m. for the first contest.
