Top Story - The Robert Morris University men's basketball team opens a three-game homestand Saturday at the Charles L. Sewall Center with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Saint Francis (Pa.) as part of "Rivalry Week" in the Northeast Conference. The Colonials are coming off a 78-74 victory over the Red Flash at DeGol Arena (2/8/12) in Loretto, Pa., that opened the home-and-home series and also wrapped up a three-game road swing in which RMU finished 2-1 (.667). Sophomore forward Mike McFadden and freshman forward Lucky Jones tied for team-high honors in scoring in the win over SFU, as each produced 14 points. Redshirt sophomore guard Coron Williams added 13 points as the Colonials shot a season-high 56 percent (28-for-50) from the field in the win, including 63 percent (17-for-27) in the second half. RMU continues its homestand after hosting the Red Flash Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Bryant Thursday, Feb. 16.

Quick Stat of the Night - If there was one area that Robert Morris excelled during its three-game road swing, it was attacking the basket. In going 2-1 (.667) in road games @ Wagner (2/2/12), Mount St. Mary's (2/4/12) and Saint Francis (Pa.) (2/8/12), the Colonials averaged 34 points in the paint per contest. RMU finished with 36 points down low in an 80-69 setback against the Seahawks, which stood as a season high until the Colonials produced 38 points in the paint in a 78-74 victory over the Red Flash. RMU's starting frontcourt of junior center Lijah Thompson, sophomore forward Mike McFadden and freshman forward Lucky Jones combined for 31 points on 12-of-17 (70.6 percent) shooting from the floor against Saint Francis (Pa.). Over the last five years, Robert Morris owns a record of 45-12 (.789) when scoring at least 30 points in the paint. Meanwhile, McFadden enters Saturday's game against the Red Flash ranked fourth in the Northeast Conference against league foes with a field goal percentage of 59 percent.

Saturday's Opponent and The All-Time Series - The longest running rivalry in program history, Saint Francis (Pa.) and Robert Morris will meet for the 71st time Saturday at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The Colonials hold a 42-28 (.600) advantage in the all-time series after Wednesday's 78-74 victory at DeGol Arena in Loretto, Pa., and have won eight straight and 13 of the last 14 meetings between the two programs. Thanks to RMU's win Wednesday, the Colonials stretched their winning streak against the Red Flash to eight games at DeGol Arena, the longest winning streak in school history by Robert Morris on an opponent's home court.

The Comeback Kids - For the second straight game, Robert Morris fell behind by double-digits in the first half, only to battle back to pull out a victory. In a 78-74 win @ Saint Francis (Pa.) (2/8/12) to open "Rivalry Week" in the Northeast Conference, the Colonials trailed, 35-24, with 2:19 to play in the first half. However, RMU trimmed its deficit to five at halftime, 35-30, and outscored the Red Flash, 26-10, in the first nine minutes of the second stanza to open up its own 11-point cushion, 56-45. The victory over SFU marked the third time this season the Colonials have climbed out of a double-digit deficit for a victory and eighth time RMU has turned the trick in two seasons under head coach Andrew Toole. In fact, in each of the last four road games for Robert Morris, the Colonials have fallen behind by at least 10 points but come back to win three of them, including a 15-point second-half deficit in an 81-73 overtime win @ Monmouth (1/21/12).

The Daytona 500 - Redshirt junior forward Russell Johnson has been RMU's most consistent rebounder over the last three years, and he continues to produce on the glass in 2011-12. Despite missing six of RMU's previous seven games with an injury, Johnson returned to the rotation in a 78-74 victory @ Saint Francis (Pa.) (2/8/12) and led the Colonials with six rebounds. The program's active leading rebounder with 493 career caroms, Johnson is just seven boards shy of becoming the 16th player in school history to join the 500-rebound club and the first since former Colonial Jeremy Chappell (2005-09) turned the trick during the 2008-09 campaign.

Ant Marching - Sophomore point guard Anthony Myers has certainly increased his production in recent weeks, providing the Colonials with inspired play off the bench. In RMU's last nine games, Myers is averaging 7.4 points per contest while shooting 50 percent (21-for-42) from the floor, including 50 percent (11-for-22) from long range, and 87.5 percent (14-for-16) at the charity stripe. Included in that span is a career-high 16 points in an 81-73 overtime victory @ Monmouth (1/21/12) and 15 points in a 67-62 win @ Mount St. Mary's (2/4/12). More importantly, Myers is in the midst of his best stretch of the 2011-12 campaign doing what he does best for his teammates: creating. In the last nine games, Myers owns 35 assists (3.89 per game) while suffering just 14 turnovers, an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.50.

Lucky Charms - One Colonial who has blossomed since being inserted into the starting lineup is freshman forward Lucky Jones. In his last eight games, each as a member of the starting five, Jones is averaging 10.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 53.6 percent (30-for-56) from the field. During that span, Jones has established career highs in both points (17) and rebounds (14), and he enters Saturday's game against Saint Francis (Pa.) averaging 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds against Northeast Conference foes. Meanwhile, the Colonials own a record of 11-3 (.786) this season when Jones grabs at least six rebounds in a game.
