Grasonville, Md. / Prospect Bay C.C. – The Robert Morris University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational Tuesday afternoon, finishing 23rd overall after posting a final round 336 and a 54-hole total of 987.
Freshman Matt Gurska (Hermitage, Pa. / Kennedy Catholic) led the Colonials finishing in a tie for 66th with a three-round score of 240. He opened the event with a 76 before carding an 82 in each of the final two rounds.
Senior Brandon Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) shot 81 on Tuesday, his second consecutive round of 81, to go along with an opening round of 84. His three-round score of 246 put him in a tie for 90th at 30-over par. Freshman Garrett Browning (Imperial, Pa. / West Allegheny) used 255 strokes over three rounds with scores of 87-83-85. He finished tied for 106th.
Sophomore Ryan Prokay (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) finished the event with an 88, putting his tourney total at 260 and placing 111th. Senior Brock Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) withdrew from the final round of play after scoring 80 in each of the first two rounds.
