For the second time in three weeks, freshman Michelle Schiewe's (Swidnica, Poland / Czestochowska Second Liceurn) performance for the Robert Morris University women's cross country team has earned her Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week accolades.

Schiewe, who was also honored with the same plaudit Sept. 27, 2011, took home the award Tuesday after propelling the Colonials to a third-place finish at the Slippery Rock Invitational, Oct. 8, at Cooper's Lake Campground in Slippery Rock, Pa., with 89 points.

Navigating the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:42.90, the fourth best time in school history and allowing her to finish fifth individually for RMU.

Schiewe's time of 22:37.35 at the Ohio Invitational (9/24/11) is the third best time in school history, and she has posted the top time by a Colonial in each of Robert Morris' three meets on the 2011 campaign.

RMU returns to the course Friday, Oct. 14, by taking part in the Penn State National Invitational in University Park, Pa., as its final tuneup for the 2011 Northeast Conference Championships Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011.
