RMU Drops A Pair of Matches

Colonials fall at Pittsburgh and at home to Carnegie Mellon

Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women's tennis squad continued its 2014 spring campaign this weekend by dropping a pair of 7-0 decisions. The Colonials fell at Pittsburgh Saturday before losing to Carnegie Mellon at home Sunday.

At the No. 1 singles flight against the Panthers, senior Carolina Mourao Teixeira (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil / Cruzeiro) battled Taylor Washington before suffering a 6-2, 6-1 setback.

Freshman Alina Schibol (Hamburg, Germany) took on Kimmy Borza at the No. 4 singles flight at Pittsburgh, dropping the first set, 6-4, before suffering a 6-2 loss in the second set.

RMU is next in action Saturday, March 1, when it takes on IPFW in Youngstown, Ohio.
