Hornets Sting Colonials, 4-3

The Robert Morris University women's tennis team dropped its 2013-14 regular-season finale Saturday, falling to Delaware State, 4-3, at the North Athletic Complex.
The setback drops the Colonials to 4-12 in dual-match action on the year.

Against the Hornets, RMU picked up victories in singles action, as sophomore Marie-Sophie Heine (Wanze, Belgium / Saint Quirin), freshman Diana Mirceta (Hamilton, Ontario / Glendale Secondary) and junior Kourtney Passero (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Central) claimed wins.

Heine defeated Maja Banas at the No. 1 flight, 6-3 and 6-1, while Mirceta knocked off Miche Khokhar, 6-4 and 6-1, and the No. 3 singles flight. Passero, meanwhile, was victorious at No. 6 thanks to a 6-2, 7-5 win over Britt Kablyebkova.

Robert Morris now gears up for the 2014 Northeast Conference Championships, which take place April 17-19 in Princeton, N.J.
