Robert Morris Slips In NEC Tournament Quarterfinals

Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women's tennis team concluded its 2013-14 campaign Thursday with a 4-0 loss to No. 3 seed Bryant in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Northeast Conference Championships in West Windsor, N.J., at the Mercer County Tennis Center.

The Colonials finish the 2013-14 campaign with an overall record of 4-13.

The Bulldogs picked up the doubles point and also earned victories at each of the first three singles flights to earn the win.

At the No. 1 singles flight, Marion Bouillin defeated senior Carolina Mourao Teixeira (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil / Cruzeiro), 6-2 and 6-2. 

Sophomore Marie-Sophie Heine (Wanze, Belgium / Saint Quirin) battled Ryan Brown before falling, 6-4 and 6-3.

Mourao Teixeira and freshman Alina Schibol (Hamburg, Germany) each finished with seven wins in singles play during the 2013-14 campaign to lead Robert Morris. Mourao Teixeira finished with a record of 7-11, including a 5-10 mark at the No. 1 singles flight, while Schibol compiled a record of 7-12.

Mourao Teixeira was also part of RMU's top doubles squad, teaming with sophomore Dounia Zinbi (Halle, Belgium / College St. Augustin) to posting a record of 9-7, including a mark of 6-5 at the No. 3 flight.
