Box Score South Bend, Ind. – The
Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-5 decision to the No. 10/9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Arlotta Stadium this afternoon.
Sophomores
Luke Laszkiewicz (Oshawa, Ontario / Westminster Prep) and
James Rahe (Aldergrove, British Columbia / W.J. Mouat) each scored two goals for Robert Morris (5-7, 2-3 NEC).
Notre Dame (6-4, 2-2 ACC) opened up the scoring with an early goal 1:07 in, but the Colonials responded three minutes later as redshirt senior
Taylor Graves (Carlsbad, Calif. / Carlsbad) gathered a pass from sophomore
Eric Rankel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) in transition and found the back of the net.
The Fighting Irish came back with nine unanswered goals over the next 23:46 to take back a lead they would never relinquish.
With 1:42 left in the half, RMU broke its scoreless drought as Laszkiewicz ripped the back of the net off a pass from Rankel.
After four straight goals from Notre Dame, the Colonials picked up their third goal of the contest following a face-off win from senior
Sean Meagher (Chesterfield, Mo. / St. Louis University) as Rahe scored off a pass from Graves.
That goal sparked a 3-0 run for RMU as Laszkiewicz and Rahe each found the back of the cage for the second time – the former's coming on a man-up opportunity.
A goal with 3:53 remaining from the Fighting Irish set the final.
Senior
Brian Bohn (Mars, Pa. / Seneca Valley) and junior
Matt Bukovac (Ashburn, Va. / Briar Woods) combined to make 17 saves in the loss. Bohn allowed nine goals before being replaced by Bukovac, who stopped 12 shots in 34:58.
Meagher caused three turnovers on the afternoon and is now four away from breaking his own single-season program record that he set last year. The senior also collected a career-high eight groundballs.
Robert Morris returns to action next Saturday as they host No. 17/15 Bryant. The Northeast Conference (NEC) match-up is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start from Joe Walton Stadium. That game will also be the last home contest for seniors

Justin McLiverty (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherland),
