Scouting Butler – The Bulldogs come into this weekend with a record of 4-2, having swept through the Chippewa Invitational and taking one match at the Bluegrass Battle. Senior outside hitter Belle Obert leads the team with 81 kills, while sophomore middle blocker Kayla Bivins has been stellar defensively with 27 blocks (3 solo, 24 assist).

Against the Buffaloes – The Colonials have played Colorado only once in their history. This match happened two years ago at Maddie Bingaman Memorial Tournament in which the Buffaloes swept RMU in three sets.

Scouting Colorado – Fresh off a three-match sweep at the Omni Classic last weekend, the Buffaloes host their second tournament in a row with the Omni Invitational. Senior outside hitter Taylor Simpson has tallied 88 kills and 16 blocks (2 solo, 14 assist), while her little sister Cierra leads the team with 66 digs and 11 service aces.

Match #3 – Saturday, September 13 – 5:30 PM (MDT)
Robert Morris vs. Idaho State (2-4, 0-0 Big Sky)
Coors Events Center - Boulder, Colo.

Against the Bengals – The Colonials have only met Idaho State once in the program's history, winning that contest at the 2007 University of Cal-Riverside Classic. RMU topped the Bengals in five sets as Tawnya Storino notched a double-double with 52 assists and 19 digs.

Scouting Idaho State – The Bengals have taken part in two tournaments so far, winning one match in each of them. Redshirt junior outside hitter Tressa Lyman paces the team in kills with 77, with junior setter Hayley Farrer providing the set on most of them as she has dished out 213 assists. Redshirt senior libero Kylee Sessions has 74 digs defensively.

Looking Ahead – As Robert Morris closes out its non-conference tournament slate, the Colonials will travel to Akron for a single game on Sept. 16. RMU has played the Zips 11 times in its history, with the teams' last meeting coming last season.

Can You Dig It? – Senior libero Melissa Bograd was all over the court defensively this past weekend at the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational. Bograd earned All-Tournament Team honors after collecting 61 digs in three matches. She tallied a season-high 27 in the Colonials' opening match against Indiana State, then added 21 in the nightcap against Youngstown State. Bograd leads the team with 111 digs and is averaging 4.11 per set.

Opportunity Grasped – Sophomore outside hitter Madelyn Betts saw the most playing time of her young career at the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational. Betts tallied 22 kills in nine sets, including a career-high nine against Youngstown State on Sept. 5. In two of these matches (Indiana State, UMass Lowell), the sophomore hit at over a .300 clip. Prior to this past weekend, Betts had collected six kills in 10 career sets.

A Special Dominance – The Colonials defeated UMass Lowell in four sets last Saturday to earn their first win of the season. In the final set, RMU dominated the Riverhawks to the tune of 25-7. This was the first time since 2012 that the Colonials allowed less than 10 points in a set. In that season, RMU took the first set of an eventual three-set win at Quinnipiac, 25-8. The Colonials again accomplished the feat against the Bobcats, knocking them off 25-9 in the third and final set at home.
