RMU Suffers First Loss of Season at Wright State

First road game of year results in first loss and first shutout

Dayton, Ohio - The Robert Morris University men's soccer suffered its first loss of the season in its first road game of the year at Wright State Friday afternoon. The Raiders scored twice in the second half to knock of the Colonials, 2-0, at Alumni Field in Dayton, Ohio. RMU is now 1-1-1 while WSU is still unbeaten at 2-0-1.

After a scoreless first half, Wright State was able to get on the board in the 69th minute courtesy of Eric Lynch's first goal of the season. Joakim Carlsson made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute, heading a cross from Will Gbelee inside the left post.

Junior goalkeeper Brenden Alfery had seven saves for the Colonials. Neco Brett had three shots for an RMU team that was outshot, 22-5.

The Colonial are idle the remainder of the weekend before taking on Liberty next Friday, Sept. 12, at VMI.
