Colonials Hope to Take Winning Ways to the Road

After a successful first weekend at home, RMU strives for success on the road at RPI

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Playing on home ice provided a timely boost to the Robert Morris University women's hockey team, and the Colonials hope to transfer their success at 84 Lumber Arena to the road to Troy, N.Y., where they face their next opponent, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.

The Colonials (2-3-1) racked up two wins this weekend in their home-opening series against Merrimack. RMU posted season highs in points (18), goals (six) and assists (12) in its 6-1 win Friday night and recorded a season-best 37 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 victory. The Warriors entered the game leading Division I women's hockey in power play percentage, but the Colonials' penalty kill stifled Merrimack and held the visiting Warriors to 0-6 on the weekend on the one-man advantage.
