Pittsburgh, Pa. – After back-to-back two-game weekend series on the road, the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team opens its home slate with first-year program Merrimack on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 10 at 3:05 p.m. at 84 Lumber Arena.
Head coach
Paul Colontino's main message to his Colonials (0-3-1) at the end of Thursday's practice, in preparation for playing on home ice for the first time this season, was to stay rested, relaxed and focused, goals that are not always easily remembered nor achieved while on the road. The young squad, however, has showed signs of progress in its first two weekends of action and hopes to trend upward when the Warriors (0-2-0) of Merrimack roll into town. A key to Robert Morris' success this weekend will be to limit its penalties, as Merrimack ranks No. 1 in the nation in power play percentage (5-for-9; .556).
