Pittsburgh, Pa. -- The No. 20 Robert Morris University men's hockey team returns home to face American International College on the ice at 84 Lumber Arena this weekend.
Last weekend, RMU notched one of the biggest wins in program history, a 4-0 shutout of #10 Michigan. The win came a night after the Colonials let a 3-1 lead in the third slip away in a 5-3 defeat Friday. RMU came back strong Saturday with a 3-goal first period & Dalton Izyk shut out Michigan with 34 saves. The Yellow Jackets are still searching for their first win of the season after dropping last weekend's home series with RIT 4-2, 6-2. Derek Henderson, Jackson Dudley, Shawn McBride and Daniel Mele netted their first goals of the year. Hunter Leisner took the loss & split time in net with Alex Murray on Friday. SCOUTING AIC-Â Â Gary Wright is in his 31st season as head coach at American International. He is the Yellow Jackets' all-time winningest hockey coach, and, along with Red Berenson of Michigan, is the NCAA's longest-tenured head coach.
- Â Â AIC has been outscored by its' opponents 47-18, averaging 2.3 goals per game to opponents 5.9. The Yellow Jackets are outshot an average of 18 shots per game.
-Â Â Player to watch is Austin Orszulak, who leads AIC with 28 shots, 3 goals, 4 assists and 7 points
-Â Â AIC has not been shut out this season, scoring at least two goals in all but one of its' 8 games, and three goals in 3 of those games.
-Â Â Freshman center Shawn McBride was the Atlantic Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists in AIC's 0-3 week. McBride has a four-game point streak dating back to the series finale against Penn State on October 24. McBride has 3G, 3A this season.

Greg Gibson was named the nation's player of the month for October, by the Hockey Commissioners' Association, the first such honor for a Colonials player. Gibson is tied for first in the nation in points (13), tied for 4th in Goals (6), tied for 5th in assists (7), tied for third in GPG (1), T-6th APG (1.17), T-3rd PPG (2.17), ranks 6th in SOG/GP (4.83) and 14th in SOG (29).

LYNCH LIGHTS IT UPZac Lynch in 4th in the nation in career scoring with 110 points, tied for 5th in assists (64) and 8th in goals (46). Lynch is also second in short-handed goals (6) & tied for 12th in power play goals (14). On the season, Lynch leads Atlantic Hockey and NCAA hockey in +/- at +10, is tied for 14th in points with 9, and 14th in points per game with 1.50

CAREER RANKINGSRobert Morris has several other players ranked in the top 50 nationally in career numbers. Gibson is 32nd in points (79), tied for 12th in goals (43) and tied for 31st in game-winning goals (6).
David Friedmann is 43rd in goals (29), 45th in points (67) and tied for 18th in GWG (7).
Tyson Wilson is tied for 23rd in career assists with 50 and 67th in points with 60.
Brandon Denham is 55th in points with 64, 56th in assists (39) and tied for 31st in GWG (6).

IZYK REACHES MILESTONESJunior goaltender
Dalton Izyk surpassed the 1,000 save milestone in a 34-save shutout of #10 Michigan. That shutout was the fifth of Izyk's career, tying an RMU record set by Eric Levine (2009-13). Izyk ranked third nationally with a .961 save percentage and his 1.36 goals against average ranks sixth overall. Izyk is first in the AHC in save percentage, goals against average and fewest goals allowed (starting in at least two games). Izyk leads the conference in win percentage as well (.833).
