– The first road trip of 2016 takes the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team to No. 4 Quinnipiac for a two-game series scheduled for Friday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.
This concludes the non-conference portion of the 2015-16 schedule for RMU.
The Colonials (12-6-4) are riding a five-game unbeaten streak into the second of two consecutive non-conference series. Robert Morris showed no evidence of rust on their game after returning from the holiday break, as they cruised past Providence by margins of 6-1 and 4-1. They take on a top-ranked Bobcats (16-1-3) squad following a bye week.
No. 4 Quinnipiac (17-1-4) is riding a fifteen-game unbeaten streak, having won 11 of their last 13. The squad has not lost since dropping a 4-3 decision to Yale on Oct. 31. The Bobcats boast the No. 2 scoring defense in the nation, averaging 0.91 goals per game. Quinnipiac's power play and penalty kill rank ninth and fourth, respectively, for a combined special teams ranking of No. 6.

Tough TestQuinnipiac is the second nationally ranked opponent on the Colonials' 2015-16 schedule. To open the season, RMU visited a No. 9-ranked Bemidji State team. Robert Morris dropped the first game and tied the second.
