Colonials Close Fall Campaign at Dayton Invite

Daniel Franco Saad finished with a team-best two-day total of 154

Kettering, Ohio – The Robert Morris University golf team improved upon its first round score from yesterday afternoon, shooting a 306 to finish 15th at the Dayton Fall Invitational in the Colonials' final event of the fall season.

Playing at the NCR County Club in Kettering, Ohio, RMU managed to shoot a score that was tied for the eighth lowest of the second round. Michigan claimed the tournament title with a two-day total of 580, 12 over par. Invitational host Dayton finished second with a 588 (+20), while Oakland (604) and Butler (606) rounded out the top four.

Grant Schumaker led the Colonials this afternoon with a three-over 74, managing a pair of birdies on both the front and back nine. Michael McMorrow finished behind Schumaker on the day with a four-over 75, thanks in part to a 36 on the final nine holes.

Daniel Franco Saad shot a second round score of 78, finishing with a team-best mark of 154. Max Palmer carded a 79 on the afternoon, giving him a two-round total of 157, which tied him with both Schumaker and McMorrow.

Playing as an individual, Kyle Grube shot an 82 to close with a score of 158. David Szymanski carded an 83 and finished with a total of 160.

Competing in five tournaments over this month and last, Robert Morris will return to the course after the calendar turns to 2017 in hopes of claiming its fourth Northeast Conference (NEC) championship.
