Pittsburgh, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University women's hockey team looks to bring its early success on the road back home to 84 Lumber Arena this weekend, when the Colonials host RPI on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 8 at 3:05 p.m.
RMU (2-0-0) opened the 2016-17 season with a sweep of Providence College. The Colonials saw early success from their special teams units over the weekend. Through two games, Robert Morris was 5-for-16 (.312) on the power play and 11-for-12 (.917) on the penalty kill. RMU's five power-play goals to start the season ranks No. 1 in the nation.

Robert Morris versus RPI
The Colonials are 8-8-2 all-time versus the Engineers. Last season, Robert Morris swept a two-game series at RPI, including a 2-0 shutout victory to jump start the series.
Power Surge
Robert Morris went a combined 5-for-16 (.312) on the man advantage last weekend. They scored multiple power-play goals in both games. The Colonials' five power-play goals through the first two games on the season ranks No. 1 in Division I National Collegiate women's ice hockey.
Starting Strong
For the first time since the 2011-12 season, head coach
Paul Colontino and the Colonials started a season with a series sweep.
